Sea to the Summit (19,341feet) with Team Kilimanjaro - an exhilarating experience for life!
8 of us friends from 4 countries ( 3 continents) decided to summit Mt Kilimanjaro to fundraise for underprivileged children at Isha Vidhya. We are so glad and extremely grateful that we chose Team Kilimanjaro! My elder sister had trekked with them in 2012 and she gave her feedback and we researched online and knew instantly that we were in safe hands with Team Kilimanjaro. Ally Rees Evans, our co-ordinator has been outstanding in her communication skill and planning every minute detail very well right from airport pick up taking care of our flight schedules to drop off and also guiding us to the various choices of hotels/ lodges. She patiently and promptly answered all our queries via email. We stayed at Outpost lodge which was comfortable with friendly staff, hot shower and good bed. We chose the TK Rongai route 7 days. Our chief guide Ally Swalehe and his team of Assistant Guides: Peter Malya, Dickson Festo & Leodgard Sarita, Cook: Yasin Juma, Senior Porters: Michael Joseph, Boniface Camillius, Johnson Nyari and others were excellent in the services they offered us. Our chief guide - calm and composed always had a positive outlook and he even managed to make arrangements quickly as per the situation demanded and ensured that we reach the summit safely. It was an exhilarating experience for all of us and we celebrated two birthdays at the summit which included my 50th birthday. We also had the wonderful opportunity to cook our favourite comfort food of lentil soup with tomatoes and pepper ( south Indian rasam) and raw banana chips at 4800mts ASL. All of us being vegetarians we could enjoy a very tasty spread of food every single day. Water supply was safe and unlimited. The porters were really very helpful to each one of us and on summit day they were truly our guardian angels! We learnt some words in Swahili ( pole pole, hakuna matata, Jumbo and we sang/ danced to the Kilimanjaro song which Asst guide Peter sang daily for us supported by the others). We had a short acclimatisation hike up the ridge at 4800mts and the TK Rongai route had variety of terrain and amazing landscape. Overall the entire experience is so strongly etched in our minds and it was indeed a trip of a lifetime with fond memories to bring back! Team Kilimanjaro and their support staff made it extremely memorable for all of us. We are grateful to them for making it safely to the summit and back with fond memories. I strongly recommend Team Kilimanjaro for anyone who is keen to explore Mt Kilimanjaro. They are skilled, safe, fun, experienced and they know this mountain much better than one's own backyard!

Team Kilimanjaro Lemosho Climb
Let me start by saying the website needs to be redone. It works but could be much better. There...that is about the only negative thing I can say about this organization.
Now that that is out of the way let me tell you that Team Kilimanjaro is the best! So happy we chose them to climb and safari with. Bianca was our connection for booking. She answered many questions before we left and worked hard during the trip to make accommodation changes for a group member during the safari. The entire TK climbing crew (39 of them) took care of us at every turn. Faraja Mwaijande was the lead guide and the group was well organized. Laurenty Raphael and Abdalah Moega were our servers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They were super polite and did always helpful...great job. Laurenty also carried my bag so many thanks for that. Assistant guides Thomas Jonas and Edwin Arobogast were always there to help. Actually I cannot say enough great things about Edwin. He was always there to help all of us. After summit night he handed back jackets, bags, shirts, and more to over half of the members of the group. I am not sure how he helped us all but he did. Edwin also has a gift in singing. His voice carried me to the top of Africa. Summit night was made easier by singing, which seemed to connect us to the each other and the mountain. Edwin, you are the best! I also made a connection with Benedict Adolf who climbed to the summit with us for his first time. He did this as well as being a porter for the dining supplies. Thank you to all TK climbing staff, you got Babus and Bebes to the top!
Our safari guides Gerald and Isa were great too. They took a lot of pride in their jobs and worked hard to show us everything we could possibly see. Who knew that the Serengeti could be so beautiful? Ngorongoro crater was beautiful and amazing. I never knew there was anything like this in the world. So happy to have seen this.
I would highly recommend using Team Kilimanjaro for climbing Kilimanjaro and safari in Tanzania. Such a great group to show you such wonderful and beautiful sites.

Love this outfitter!
I am so relieved that we selected Team Kilimanjaro for our Mt Kilimanjaro climb and safari adventure. First off they were easy to work with, Bianca the contact always available before, during and after the trip. The team they assembled was the best. We could not have all made it to the top of Kilimanjaro without them. They carefully watched us, pampered us, kept us safe and motivated us. Faraja was our leader but we fell in love with the entire crew of 39!! for the 10 of us. They set up the most spectacular camp including three private toilet tents, thick sleeping mats, dining table with tablecloths and candles, delicious foods, full sized camp chairs and warm sleeping bags.
Shout out to Edwin, who sang so beautifully during our final ascent that I felt like I was in a dream as I climbed. I will never forget his voice or the incredible kindness he showed as he fed is like little birds as we climbed. He made us drink ginger tea and he hovered close by taking it all in. Laurent and his brother Abdulla served us yummy meals with a smile. They brought us hot drinks each morning before we’d even gotten out of our sleeping bags. Moses told me stories and practiced Spanish with me. Benedict shared his joy about being on his very first climb with us. Yacob greeted me each day with smiles, removing my Day pack and shoes while congratulating me and cheering me on. I could name each of the 39 and tell you a story of connection. They all worked hard and did everything they could to give us the adventure of a lifetime.
Then the safari part of our tour came with Gerald and Esau who kept up the great service and generous care. We picked a camping safari, which was exhilarating and comfortable. The tents were new, with thick sleeping pads. The food continued to be delicious and served by a smiling Chef named Anderson. His helper Joseph set up camp so quickly we were amazed. He found my brand new iPhone X left behind in a tent and made a special journey to return it to me. He seemed even more excited than me, hugging me over and over.
Overall I felt a genuine and authentic connection with the crew of Team Kilimanjaro. I found them professional, kind, happy and joy filled. This will be one of the best memories of my life. Thanks to Team Kilimanjaro!

Great climb of Kilimanjaro and wonderful organisation
My wife and I had the pleasure of climbing mt. Kilimanjaro with Frank John from Team Kilimanjaro as our chief guide. We did the 9-day TK Lemosho route with a night at the crater camp at 5.729m, using the Excel Series offered by Team Kilimanjaro.
The entire climb as well as the pre-climb communication and the aftercare were simply wonderful. Ahead of our climb David gave us all the information we could wish for and during the climb Frank ensured a safe and enjoyable trek. The full team of guides, cook (also known as the stomach engineer) and porters worked together very well to support our climb and give us the best chance of summiting as planned.
We would definitely recommend climbing with Team Kilimanjaro and would also recommend the TK Lemosho route. This route is different from the traditional Lemosho route: it takes a more quite route and uses the small 'School hut' as the base camp for the summit attempt, rather than the massive and overly crowded Barafu camp (which we passed through on our way back down from the summit).
Our night at the crater camp was also worth recommending, although it was incredibly cold. It allowed us to do a hike in the crater to the Ash Pit where you can see the volcanic fumes rise, and it meant we did a day-time summit assault (getting up at 4am rather than mid-night) which is much more quiet at Uhuru Peak and leaves you a lot of time to take pictures without other climbers impatiently waiting for you to finish.
All in all: do climb with Team Kilimanjaro. We have seen many other companies on the mountain and spoken to many other climbers, the other companies simply did not offer the same quality gear, support or routes.
