Really slow and shambolic, I needed my passport urgently, unfortunately, this word is not in their vocabulary.
They have a helpline as they call it, based in Glasgow and the passport is generated in Newport, the individuals in Glasgow don't even have the means to to track your passport progress. Its unbelievable you may as well talk to a total stranger about the status of your passport.
They are blaming the covid 19 situation for the delays, how convenient. If there is a backlog they should put procedures in place to resolve it, but No that's not in their work ethos. I use the term WORK ETHOS with tong in cheek.

just like to say thank you to Dan the officer who dealt with my son today. We had an appointment for a fastrack 7 day turnaround but my son's flight was 4 days away. On hearing this Dan spoke to his supervisor and offered us to pay extra and collect the passport later that day. We were overjoyed. The set up was organised and courtesy and I was very impressed. Thank you Newport passport office.

All the people that work here have been amazing. I've spent the last two days totally stressed out because of a huge mistake on my part and all the staff have gone above and beyond to help me and my family. I can't thank them enough for everything they have done. From the security guards, to the reception staff, to the employees and to the managers. They have all been wonderful I wish this sort of service could be the same everywhere, they were brilliant helping me and wonderful with my children. thank you all so much.

Brilliant service from the passport office in Newport. Visited the office on Tuesday, needed to be fast tracked. Wonderful service, waited 5 minutes for my appointment and was dealt with very efficiently and pleasantly by a young lady. In and out within 15 minutes. Passport was delivered on the Thursday - 2 days after my appointment !!! Very pleased with the service- well done.

This office is run with taxpayer's money. However, the taxpayers themselves are not allowed to wait in the building for their appointments but are told they must wait outside. This is an unacceptable way to treat people. My impression was that people were regarded and treated as though they were back in the former Soviet Union. I am in my 70s and had made a 4 hr journey to get there only to be told I must wait outside. A disgrace and totally unacceptable.
